Go into your Canvas course
Turnitin must be set up by your tutor through Canvas. The university standard is for you to have test submissions to Turnitin to check your work before the final submission.
The Turnitin submission link will generally be under a menu item labelled as "assignments" or "assessment".

3.Click the Turnitin link, which is the name of the assessment

4.Click Submit Assignment

5.The next screen is the Submission screen:

1. Choose your submission type. Options are file upload, Office 365 or Planet E-stream
2. Browse for your file
3. Add another file if you wish
4. Add any comments about your submission
5. Tick the box to agree to the licence conditions

6.Click Submit Assignment

7. The next screen is the Confirmation screen. This gives you details of the file you have submitted. You can re-submit if you want to submit an updated or corrected version, or if you have submitted the wrong file. Please note that all submitted files will be retained in the Turnitin database and will be viewable by your lecturer.

8.Click Submission details to see the originality report

9.The next screen shows you the originality score for your assignment. It may take some time for the score to show, especially with large assignments at busy times. If you see a clock symbol instead of a percentage then the originality report is still processing.

10.To see your originality report, click on the percentage match.

The first time you do this, you will have to accept the terms and conditions by clicking I agree. You may also see a pop-up window inviting you to take a tour of the feedback studio. Click the cross at the top right to progress.

10. In the originality report, click on the percentage match at the right of the screen to see a breakdown of the sources matched. The areas matched with Turnitin's database are highlighted on your work. On the right side of the screen are listed the sources with which Turnitin has identified a match. Each has a percentage of your essay determined by Turnitin to have come from that source.

If you click the percentage by each source you can see a breakdown of the locations in which Turnitin has found a match in your work and a link to the original source. If you want to see any of the matches in the context of the original source, click on the colour in the text.

You can also change the settings (for instance, by excluding small matches or the bibliography) by clicking the filter symbol. To download the originality report, the digital receipt or the file you originally submitted, click the arrow. The digital receipt will give you the time that you submitted the assignment.
